Love the contrasting skin tones. Very simple but powerful image.

I can't explain with words how warm and tender this photo is.

The picture is awesome, as mentioned texture and contrast are great! What I don't like about this are the long, artificial nails. It breaks the natural look for me. Maybe some would say the same over the piercing but I like that a lot.

I agree with you, especially about the model's nails, but it's a nightmare to try to remove them in Photoshop and to and preserve a natural look. I've tried!!! But one day I might just have another go :-)

Nice of you to answer, other photographers would just have been pissed off or cleared their message in their daily clean up. Thanks for the insight in your work, I really appreciate it!

Well, what bothered you about the image also annoyed me too! The first time I shot with the black model she had 'normal' nails, which is what I had in mind when I was planning this image for the second shoot. But short of telling her to go and cut them and to take the polish off, there wasn't much that I could do :-(

I just love the high contrast of colour, as well as the texture and form. It's just all so beautiful to look at.

I agree that the nails just aren't a natural length, however, it does give it a more what would you say... sort of dramatic and rebelious feel. Much like the feel you would get from SnM photography, but much milder. This effect is complimented by the piercings.

So, if you really wanted a natural, comfortable, motherly feeling, the piercings and long nails would be best removed, however, it doesn't make the image worse with them; it just gives a different feel.

I like it the way it is though  I think the high contrast of the extended nails really adds that stark white contrast against her skin colour which is what is so eye-catcing about this photo

I love it; especially just love absorbing the beauty of all the elements you have successfully included :D
